Thanks to Seal Because Sometimes . . .

Crazy
In a church by the face
He talks about the people going under

Only child know…

A man decides after seventy years
That what he goes there for
Is to unlock the door
While those around him criticize and sleep

Nikos Deja Vu – Seal – CrazyFunny home videos are a click away

And through a fractal on that breaking wall
I see you my friend and touch your face again
Miracles will happen as we trip

But we’re never gonna survive unless
We get a little crazy
No we’re never gonna survive unless
We are a little

Cray cray crazy

Yellow people walking through my head
One of them’s got a gun to shoot the other one
And yet together they were friends at school

Get it, get it, get it, yeah, no!

If all were there when we first took the pill
Then maybe then maybe then maybe then maybe
Miracles will happen as we speak

But we’re never gonna survive unless
We get a little crazy
No we’re never gonna survive unless
We are a little
Crazy
No no we’ll never survive unless we get a little bit

A man decides to go along after seventy years
Oh darling

In a sky full of people only some want to fly
Isn’t that crazy?
In a world full of people only some want to fly
Isn’t that crazy?
Crazy
In a heaven of people there’s only some want to fly
Isn’t that crazy
Oh babe Oh darlin’
In a world full of people there’s only some want to fly
Isn’t that crazy?
Isn’t that crazy Isn’t that crazy Isn’t that crazy

Oh

But we’re never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy crazy
No we’re never gonna to survive unless we are a little crazy
But we’re never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy crazy
No we’re never gonna to survive unless we are a little crazy
No no never survive unless we get a little bit

And then you see things
The size of which you’ve never known before
They’ll break it
Someday
Only child know

Them things
The size
Of which you’ve never known before
Someday

Now then…could you please explain the words of "Kiss on the rose" or whatever it is called? Seal seems like a good guy but his lyrics confound me.

I wish I had any idea who Seal is. Wrong generation, I guess. Good post anyway, though!

Seal: married to Heidi Klum of "Project Runway" and "Victoria's Secret" fame.

Allison – Kiss From A Rose was the theme song for the movie Batman Forever. You can find any number of speculations about the words, but probably they have something to do with the movie. Which I haven't seen yet. Which is strange because Val Kilmer is one of my faves!:-) Anyway, I love the song, especially on gray days.

All,I found the original video and added it here. @Jan, not sure about the meaning but Kiss From A Rose was released on Seals second album in 1994. Batman Forever came out in 1995, and the song played during the end credits. That whole second album is like a prayer in my opinion. Maybe I'll post some more Seal in the future. We've got to get Webster up to speed. ;^)

@Frank: Indeed we do!To me the lyrics from "A Kiss from a Rose" sound like something a kid would be singing in the bathtub. It's like – let me take these five words and keep using them in various ways to make a song up.

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/seal/kissfromarose.htmlOkay, see all these years I thought he was saying "Rose on the grave." "Rose on the gray?" That is even more confusing to me. : )

That's true, Frank! I do think theme songs or songs selected for a movie score have some relevance usually, though, no?

@Jan, Sure I can agree with that. I actually used to skip that song on the album just for that reason too. But then I started listening to the whole album from start to finish and it all flows together, including this song. Sandwiched between "Fast Changes" and "People Asking Why" I think is evocative of…I can't really explain it.I just don't listen to Seal as if he is singing love songs between himself and another. Sometimes, I think he is singing as someone else, and sometimes as a love song to the Divine. And look at that album cover for Seal II…what do you make of that pose?

It does look rather cruciform, doesn't it?
