The Feast of All Saints

Today is the Feast of All Saints! As such, todays edition of TfT (Tunes for Tuesday!) is dedicated to great music and prayers used to commemorate this day. I also found a short video tribute set to a contemporary song that you may enjoy as well. And to round it up, a modern classic.

Let’s start this off with the great Latin chant version of the Litany of the Saints as composed by Pope St. Gregory the Great,

Litaniae Sanctorum (Litany of the Saints)

And now a more contemporary version of the Litany of the Saints in English sung by Veronica Morrissey.

Litany of the Saints, in English, this time recorded in the Franciscan Friary in Pantasaph in North Wales.

Time for Matt Maher’s version along with beautiful iconography in this video by “kolbe1019.”

A fantastic version of the Te Deum, Feast of All Saints, from the Italian composer Domenico Scarlatti.

A video tribute for All Saints by Dave Meyer. Music accompaniment is Lifesong, by the contemporary group Casting Crowns.

And to round this out, how about Louis Armstrong and When the Saints Go Marching In?

Until next week, have a great day celebrating the cloud of witnesses.
