Check it out right here. The segment is called God’s Architect, and it is quite fascinating.

The exterior is not attractive to me, but the interior, which I observed first on the broadcast of Pope Benedict’s visit, is spectacularly beautiful, truly one of the wonders of the world. Psalm 26:8 immediately comes to mind. “I love the temple … where your glory dwells.”

A few months ago, late at night, inbetween films, TCM had an old documentary about it and other works of Gaudi. Fascinating place.

I can’t think of it without recalling Papa Ben’s visit a few years ago and the demonstration given of the most-gigantic thurifer in the world. They call it “the ‘botafumeiro’ — google it. I’m sure Papa B slightly feared for his life – as it was swung within feet of him– but you can tell that he just handed that fear over to God. Good man.

I’ve seen it in person. It is the most amazing building on earth.

I’ve been watching the news snippets about The Sagrada Familia for months, and wonder when it will be declared one of the wonders of the world. It is almost beyond human imagination and comprehension! Magnificent! I hope when I die that I’m allowed to float over to it and have a quick look before I begin my 3762 year stint in Purgatory!!!!!!
